Avalanche is the snow-path disaster in Natural Disaster Survival. A large rocky snow mountain appears beside the island near the beginning of the round, giving you an early clue before or around the warning. After the warning, moving snow pieces travel down toward the map, knocking players and damaging structures. Your first job is to identify the slope-facing lane and move out of it without standing on the island edge.
Recognize Avalanche early
Look beyond the normal map boundary as soon as you arrive. The community disaster record describes a slanted mountain spawning for Avalanche, a cue that is much more specific than ordinary clouds. Use the calm window to rotate the camera, find the mountain, and compare its face with the structures between it and you.
Do not climb a tall tower while waiting for the text. Height does not counter moving snow, and a damaged tower can become a second source of falling pieces. Hold open movement space until the game confirms the disaster. The documented warning is “Avalanche! Avoid the path of the snow!”; current server text takes priority if wording changes.
Choose a first position
Move toward the side farthest from the mountain’s descending face, but stop short of the sea. You need room behind you because a snow hit or loose structure can push your avatar. Put a broad low object between you and the likely path when the map offers one, then keep an open side exit. Cover is useful as a buffer, not as a sealed bunker.
Move when the snow starts
Watch the moving pieces rather than the crowd. Use short lateral steps to avoid a visible lane and keep the camera on the mountain. Repeated jumping makes landings harder to control, especially near broken geometry. If cover begins to collapse, exit to the side away from both the snow and the falling parts.
Do not chase a player who found a visually clever ledge. Your route may approach from a different angle, and collision can push both avatars into danger. A slightly less protected area with two exits is usually a better public-server choice than a packed recess.
Multi-Disaster combinations
The Avalanche mountain changes the map and can supply elevation or shielding, but it is not a universal refuge. With Flash Flood or Tsunami, stable height becomes valuable; reach higher terrain while staying away from the main snow lane. With Earthquake, steep sides and narrow caves create fall risk, so favor open, supported ground. With Thunderstorm, avoid making the highest exposed point your final position.
Blizzard adds exposure pressure, making a recess or low cover more valuable if it is not in the snow path. Tornado demands that you track two moving hazards and preserve open lateral space. In any combination, solve the fastest irreversible threat first and avoid crossing the entire island after impacts have already filled it with debris.
Common Avalanche mistakes
Standing at the far shoreline: distance from the mountain helps, but zero space behind you turns a minor knock into a fall. Hiding inside a tall structure: the building can break and transfer movement to you. Watching only the warning: the spawned mountain is actionable earlier. Assuming every mountain recess exists: community reports describe variable useful spaces, so confirm the geometry in that round.
The Green Balloon may soften some fall outcomes according to its official pass description, but it does not make snow or island edges harmless. Do not buy it expecting Avalanche immunity. The Green Balloon guide separates the official effect wording from unverified exact values.
Practice route
For the next three Avalanche rounds, record the mountain side, your first position, whether the snow reached it, and what forced you to move. On the second appearance, choose a position with more edge clearance. On the third, test a low buffer structure only if you can leave it safely. This produces map-specific knowledge without claiming one spot always works.
Avalanche is included in the current 13-disaster community roster and was reported as a 2024 addition, but Roblox does not provide its mechanics through a first-party API. Spawn timing, collision force, snow distribution, and combination behavior still need current in-game verification.
